News: Interview of Ann De Jaeger by The Wall Street Journal, Europe
Ann De Jaeger was interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, regarding recruiting and promoting more women on the executive boards.
Generally speaking, Ann said that women are more risk-averse than men. Women have a focus on the sustainability of both profit and the business and they tend to have a radar view – as opposed to men’s laser view – which means that they also notice what the numbers don’t reveal. Ann informs that too many companies adopt a compliance approach but they don’t allow for real inclusiveness.
Regarding the quota system Ann believes that the thinking behind the quota legislation is that gender balance won’t be reached organically, that it has to be enforced, which is unfortunate, but nevertheless a fact.
